North Central Utility is one of the largest semi-trailer dealers in the world helping support the transportation industry and the critical movement of goods.  A large portion of our business helps support refrigerated carriers that transport temperature sensitive food and materials throughout North American.  We are seeking experienced service technicians to perform all aspects of semi-trailer maintenance and repair including occasionally truck work.

Hours: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday thru Friday

JOB DETAILS:

Perform diagnostics, repairs and modifications of the following for all makes and models of semi-trailers:

  • Air suspensions
  • ABS brake systems
  • Drum & disc brake systems
  • Wheel ends
  • Body work (side panel, roof, rail & x-bars)
  • Air & electrical systems
  • Welding
  • DOT Inspections
  • Diagnose and provide recommendations on repairs
  • Accurately record description and hours of all work performed on RO’s
  • Learn and follow NCU best practices for correct & efficient repairs
  • Learn and follow NCU safety best practices
  • Perform additional duties as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Has basic tool set
  • 2+ years minimum experience working on semi-tractors and/or trailers
  • Can demonstrate knowledge of basic welding and metal cutting procedures
  • Certified to perform DOT inspections (or able to pass certification test)
  • Some experience with air, electrical and ABS systems on trailers
  • Positive attitude and team player
  • Be helpful and considerate to co-workers and customers
  • Maintain a clean, safe and clutter free workspace at all times
  • Desire for long-term opportunity to learn and succeed
  • Ready to work at start of shift
  • Dress appropriately
  • Able to follow work instructions and direction from supervisor
  • Forklift certified (or able to become certified)
  • Able to move trailers in and out of shop with yard truck
  • Assist other service team members as needed
  • Attend training seminars as requested

As the Sales Coordinator at our Madison/Deforest Store, your daily task is to assist the trailer sales team members across 7 store locations with daily transactions and inventory management.  This is a full-time position reporting directly to the Sales Operations Manager.

Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM   Monday thru Friday

JOB DETAILS:

  • Responsible for new and used sold trailer registrations and licensing in WI
  • Review trailer purchase order confirmations and change orders
  • Work with factory and transport companies to release completed trailers for transport
  • Invoicing New & Used Semi-Trailers
  • Calculate and document Federal Excise Tax for new trailers sold
  • Maintain files of new and used trailers
  • Use Excel to summarize and share sales data and customer prospects list with team members
  • Track incoming used trailers and add to company’s inventory management system
  • Learn inventory management system to become a knowledge resource for others

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
  • Highly organized individual with effective time management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in fast paced environment
  • Strong attention to details
  • Maintain high levels of integrity and confidentiality
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Products, especially Excel 
  • Heavy-Duty Equipment and/or components experience preferred but not necessary
