Job Description

As a Service Manager you’ll be on the front line of our business seeing all sort of repairs. Plan, direct, motivate and manage activities of the Service Department to meet or exceed sales goals. Identify and train subordinates and manage daily operations. Meet with vendors and service providers as required. Meet or exceed established sales, profit and growth objective for the Service Department. Acquire and retain customers by implementing sales and marketing programs and fulfill the Company’s commitment to deliver outstanding service to all customers. Schedule repair work to meet or exceed industry standards by implementing innovative and cost/effective service products and repair procedures. Eliminate work related injuries by following approved repair procedures and safety standards.

Job Details:  

  • Ensure Company policies are followed with regards to recruiting, hiring, training and disciplinary actions
  • Ensure governmental requirements and documentation are followed with regard to work procedures, training and record keeping on hazardous materials and safety programs
  • Maintain ongoing communication with Utility Manufacturing concerning warranty procedures and documentation
  • Insure service work is reimbursed promptly
  • Attend Service Manager meetings and Training Seminars as required
  • Advise the Service Operation Manager of desired training for subordinates and self    
  • Make specific expense recommendations for tools and equipment
  • Review Company reports to ensure Service Department Sales and expenses are meeting or exceeding company standards
  • Review customer work status report quarterly and communicate status to Service Operations Manager
  • Formally review the performance of all service and direct subordinates once per year using company reports
  • Maintain verbal communication with Service Operation Manager regarding market conditions and other factors affecting the progress an profitability of the Service Dept.
  • Assist Service Operation Manager in developing and initiating customer appreciation events to include (business lunches, trade shows, gifts, customer outings)
  • Maintain strong communication and business relationship with Insurance Adjusters in regarding to existing and future insurance work
  • Co-ordinate with Parts and Sales Department on Special quotes
  • Keep abreast of how and what competition is doing or not doing. (i.e. competitive rates, wages, new services and growth)
  • Ensure the shop, equipment and vehicles are properly maintained and good conditions
  • Ensure Mechanics’ tools are in safe and good condition

 Requirements:

  • 5 years in Management/Service of Heavy Duty Parts Operations for the Semi-Trailer or Truck industry
  • Supervisory experience strongly preferred 
  • Strong communication skills to deal with customers, employees and vendors
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Excellent interpersonal and management skills
  • Team leader
  • Excellent organizational skills

Job Description

As a warehouse employee, perform work assignments maintaining established company and industry standards.

  • Full Time OR Part Time Position
  • Full Time Hours: 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM Monday thru Friday
  • Part Time Hours: 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday thru Friday

Job Details:

  • Receive and sign each incoming shipment, checking for damage, correct package count, and shipping charge status, identifying collect verses prepaid.
  • Process incoming orders within 24 hours in the order received. Check off parts on the purchase order and packing list to make sure all parts received.  Check to ensure there is no concealed damage; ensure that all kits received have correct parts inside. Distribute incoming parts as required to place in stock for the shop or front counter or outside for the route.  Parts for stock must be part numbered, put away and their bin location recorded on the packing list.  Post (basic data entry) packing list receipt and location changes into our operating system.
  • Maintain a current inventory list of all items stored in each storage trailer.  Keep warehouse, shipping and receiving area, rail racks, storage trailers, and upstairs neat, clean and organized. Maintain shipping supplies, forms from shippers and current freight rates from shippers. 
  • Pull, package, and bill the orders for the weekly shuttle.  Load and unload the shuttle truck, keeping track of the baskets, paperwork, and company mail.  Check in/put away shuttle orders.
  • Process outgoing shipments; pull, package and bill the orders making sure that the paperwork matches the items shipped.
  • Maintain dirty core inventory, returning dirty cores in an expedient manner, maintain/update the dirty core list.
  • Maintain warranty tracking; file warranty claims with vendors; return parts for warranty consideration in an expedient manner; ensure customers’ claims are processed immediately.
  • Operate forklift and standard transmission vehicles.  Inform your manager of repairs needed.
  • Process orders for the Parts Department in a safe and efficient manner.  Load the delivery vehicle, making sure that the paperwork matches the items loaded.
  • Ensure items loaded for delivery match the customers’ invoices. All returns are processed in an expedient manner.  Tag the returns with the customer name, date, and reason for return and load into vehicle.  Prepare return document and copy the customer.
  • Obtain a receipt or a packing list for returns; when an order is returned without paperwork, immediately prepare a summary/packing list regarding these items.
  • Assist customers in identifying parts’ needs; accurately pull and invoice orders; answer telephones and greet customers in a timely and professional manner
  • All other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of a high school diploma preferred.  Forklift certification is preferred.  Valid State Driver’s License with a clean driving record is required.
  • Prior warehouse experience is helpful; a minimum of 6-months forklift experience and certification is preferred.  If candidate requires forklift certification, certification will be provided on-the-job, prior to forklift usage.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds consistently.  Frequent walking, standing, sitting, reaching, lifting, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling and repetitive motion with strength, stamina and control required. Use of warehouse and forklift equipment is required.
  • Completion of safety and lifting training as required.  Consistent use of seat belts required at all times when using forklift equipment inside the buildings, in the yards and outside on regular highways/roads.  When driving a company vehicle, use of seat belts is required at all times, regardless of the travel distance.
  • Ability to read, communicate and respond to internal procedures and documentation.  Basic to intermediate computer skills required.
